Work Pattern: Monday - Thursday 8.45am - 4.45pm, Friday 8.45am - 4.15pm
Salary / Hourly Rate: £67,430 - £80,697
Transformation and Business Change Manager
South Lanarkshire Council is seeking an experienced and strategic leader to drive forward our ambitious programme of public sector reform and transformational change.
This is a key leadership role responsible for shaping and delivering transformation across the Council. Working closely with the Head of Communications and Strategy and Corporate Management Team, you will lead the development of integrated, person and community-centred services aligned to the Neighbourhood Place approach.
The council is piloting a new approach to service delivery based on the Marmot Principles and the role will initially be aligned primarily to that project, though it will align to other relevant projects going forward.
You will operate across all Resources and Services, ensuring transformation is embedded in planning and delivery, strengthening collaboration, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Key duties include:
- Providing strategic leadership for transformation and public sector reform across the council
- Leading redesign of services to deliver streamlined, integrated and outcome-focused models
- Ensuring alignment with the Council Plan, workforce priorities and financial planning
- Overseeing governance, performance and risk management of transformation programmes
- Driving collaborative working across services and with partners, communities and stakeholders

You will demonstrate:
- Significant strategic leadership experience in transformation within a large organisation
- Strong understanding of place-based policy and partnership working, including the Marmot approach
- A track record of delivering complex organisational change and service integration
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, operating effectively at senior level
- A commitment to improving outcomes, reducing inequalities and delivering high-quality public services
