field service and installation engineer

As a field service and installation engineer at Tong, no two days will be the same as you perform engineering works on-site, across our UK and worldwide client base. The role will be varied depending on the project and will usually involve a lot of travel, both nationally and internationally. There's no doubt that this role will see you travelling the world, meeting new people and experiencing their cultures. That said, there may also be occasions when the successful candidate will perform some works at either our Spilsby or Holbeach factories.

• Experience in maintaining a large range of vegetable handling equipment or similar. Hydraulic and pneumatic knowledge would prove advantageous.


• Low voltage electrical, PLC, HMI and inverter experience will be advantageous but full training will be available to the successful applicant.


• A willingness to work away from home will be necessary, sometimes for lengthy periods. This will also include international travel.


• A natural desire to ensure attention to detail at all times.


• Good customer communication skills.


• A drive and enthusiasm to complete the task in the most efficient and structured method, taking a lead if necessary on multi-personnel tasks.


• Forklift truck and MEWP operator licences are an advantage but training can be given to the successful applicant.


• A full passport.


• A full driving licence, preferably clean with no penalty points.

  The primary function of the role is to install and provide preventative and reactive service maintenance to the Tong range of machinery at customer sites both nationally and internationally. Work may be of an independent nature or as part of a larger team. Immediate start available.


• Basic working week of 42hrs on a full-time basis.
