Full Job Description

In this role, you will have the opportunity to execute service work as per work instructions and in accordance with ABB quality and safety guidelines. Each day, you will deliver quality customer service planning and execute service work as per customer order. The work model for the role is: Working from home-based office, will travel to customer sites to perform service work as assigned. Must live in the Massachusetts area. This role is contributing to the Electrification Smart Power division. You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Working with the customer (while on-site) to identify opportunities to improve the customer's operations and eliminate pain points. Performing field service tasks, identifying technical issues, and performing analysis through remote or on-site activity in service categories and products for which they are certified to perform. Preparing material lists needed for service activity and ensuring that all materials, parts, and equipment are available and of
  • appropriate quality for service activities.
  • Acting as trainer when needed, for field service associates and customers. Our team dynamics: You will join a dynamic, talented, and high performing team, where you will be able to thrive.

    Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent military experience OR Associates Degree with 2 or more year's experience in servicing critical power equipment. Will consider High School Diploma/GED and 10 or more years' experience.
  • Advanced level ability to interact and communicate (written and verbal) information to varying levels within the organization.
  • PDU (Power Distribution Unit), STS (Static Transfer Switch), UPS (Uninterruptable Power Source) and 3 phase power distribution equipment experience preferred.
  • Advanced ability to write test plans and reports detailing test results.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 80% (some overnight to be expected).
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
