Finance Assistant - Cashroom

Glasgow

Full Time Position


An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Cashroom Assistant to join BTO’s Finance Department based in our Glasgow Office. The role will provide an efficient and effective financial administrative service to the Firm’s clients, partners and staff.


The successful candidate will perform a variety of administrative tasks to support the functions of the cash department which is part of the larger finance team. They will be required to manage a varied and busy workload under pressure whilst maintaining high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.


Key tasks include:


  • Processing daily banking of client and firm funds
  • Reviewing and reconciliation of bank statements
  • Input of financial postings
  • Set up & processing of electronic payments/lodging and uplifting from various online banks
  • Processing telephone card payments
  • Processing client third party invoices to purchase ledger system
  • Printing cheques
  • Undertake ad hoc tasks when necessary under the direction of the Cashroom Manager/Supervisor

Candidates must have previous relevant experience in a similar role. An understanding of the legal technology and Law Society Accounting rules, together with an awareness of Anti Money Laundering (AML) Regulations is advantageous. Excellent numeracy and problem solving skills, attention to detail, and communication skills are required. Experience of using MS office (including Excel) and financial systems, together with numeracy and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and excellent communication skills. Candidates must also be adaptable, flexible, and a good team player.


A working knowledge of 3E or similar practice management system and purchase ledger experience would be an advantage.
