Full Job Description

  • Working closely with the Finance Manager and our Heads of Department to provide on-going support.
    • In Summary:
  • Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes.
  • Organize, secure, and maintain all files, records, cash and cash equivalents in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Record, store, access, and/or analyse computerized financial information.
  • Maintain accurate electronic spreadsheets for financial and accounting data.
  • Classify, code, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records, using journals, ledgers, and/or computers.
  • Prepare, maintain, and distribute statistical, financial, accounting, and auditing reports and tables.
  • Complete period-end closing procedures and reports as specified.
  • Prepare, review, reconcile, and issue bills, invoices, and account statements according to company procedures.

    Ideally you have some experience in a finance role and/or qualifications (or part qualifications) in finance.
  • Some prior experience working in hotels would also give you an advantage (although not essential)

    The Sheraton Grand Hotel and Spa, Edinburgh is looking for a Finance Assistant to join the team. This is a permanent full time position based on property as part of a great team working office hours Monday to Friday. Please note that weekend work will be required if month end falls over a Saturday and a Sunday but time back will be given.
