Full Job Description
As a Senior Finance Business Partner - Development, you'll play a meaningful role in shaping the future of SSEN Transmission's investment programme and supporting the UK's transition to net zero. Working collaboratively with project directors, development teams, and external partners, you'll act as a trusted advisor across a portfolio of major infrastructure projects. This is an opportunity to influence important decisions, provide thoughtful financial insight, drive future value and help ensure projects are progressed in a way that is sustainable, well-governed, and aligned to long-term goals.
You will
- Build trusted, collaborative relationships with project teams and partners, offering clear financial insight and constructive challenge to support strong decision-making.
- Provide strategic financial guidance and scenario modelling to support project development and future pipeline opportunities.
- Support joint venture relationships, offering financial and commercial advice while fostering positive, effective partnerships.
- Promote strong financial governance, helping to identify risks and opportunities and ensuring appropriate funding and regulatory approaches are in place.
- Work closely with Procurement and Commercial teams, contributing to contract discussions and supporting balanced, well-informed outcomes.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to influence commercial strategy and thoughtfully challenge senior stakeholders.
- A collaborative and curious approach, with the ability to identify future value opportunities and turn financial information into meaningful insights.
- Significant experience in a senior finance role, ideally within large-scale projects, infrastructure, or investment environments.
- Experience working across teams and leading on complex, high-value initiatives.
- Knowledge of financial governance, regulatory environments, or financial modelling (experience in these areas is welcomed but not essential).
