Finance ManagerPermanent | Glasgow | Hybrid working

Your new role
As Finance Manager, you will play a key leadership role within the organisation, reporting directly to the Director of Finance and operating as a core member of the wider leadership team.
You will take responsibility for managing and developing the finance function, ensuring robust financial controls, high‑quality financial reporting and compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements. You will provide clear, insightful financial information to support strategic and operational decision‑making, while leading on budgeting, forecasting, management accounts and the preparation of statutory annual accounts.Your role will include oversight of treasury activities, loan and cashflow management, payroll, VAT and pensions, as well as liaison with external auditors, regulators and professional advisers. You will also contribute to business planning, efficiency reviews and the ongoing development of finance systems, processes and controls. Acting as a delegate for the Director of Finance when required, this role offers genuine breadth, autonomy and strategic influence.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will be a qualified accountant and a member of a recognised professional body, with significant experience operating at manager or supervisor level within a complex organisation.
You will bring strong leadership capability, with a proven ability to motivate, develop and inspire teams. You will have substantial experience of:
- Budget preparation, financial performance reporting and variance analysis
- Producing statutory annual accounts and managing external audits
- Maintaining strong financial control environments and implementing improvements
- Preparing management accounts, cashflow forecasts and board‑level reports
- Managing payroll, pensions, VAT and statutory returns
- Advanced Excel and the effective use of financial systems and data
You will be highly analytical, resilient and well organised, with excellent communication and influencing skills and the confidence to work with senior stakeholders. Experience within a housing or similar regulated environment is advantageous but not essential.
What you'll get in return
In return for your expertise, you'll receive a competitive salary of 65,000-70,000, alongside a clear and supportive approach to hybrid working. During the initial six‑month probation period, the role will be office‑based four days per week, reducing to two days per week in the office thereafter.
You'll also benefit from an excellent holiday allowance of 25 days annual leave plus 15 public and bank holidays, providing strong work-life balance.
