Finance Manager

Rutherford Cross is delighted to be working exclusively with its client to appoint a Finance Manager into a key leadership role.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this position plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality financial insight and ensuring robust financial control. You will manage a small team, and support strategic decision-making through accurate and timely reporting. The organisation is a well-established and growing manufacturing business and is part of a wider international group across a diverse customer base.

This is a hands-on role, combining financial control, team management, and business partnering. There is a clear succession plan, with scope to progress into a Senior Leadership Team position over time as the business continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting, analysis, and insight to senior leadership
• Prepare and review monthly management accounts, forecasts, and variance analysis
• Lead group reporting requirements, ensuring deadlines are met with accuracy
• Oversee the day-to-day finance function, maintaining strong controls and processes
• Manage, coach, and develop a small finance team, ensuring clear roles and accountability
• Review team outputs to ensure accuracy and timely completion of tasks
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and annual planning processes
• Maintain balance sheet integrity through reconciliations and regular review
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and statutory requirements
• Support year-end audit processes and liaise with external auditors
• Identify and drive continuous improvements across finance systems and processes
• Provide ad hoc financial analysis and business support as required

About You:

• Qualified accountant (or qualified by experience)
• Strong background in management accounting and financial control
• Proven ability to meet tight reporting deadlines
• Experience managing or supervising a finance team
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insight
• Confident working with senior stakeholders
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail
• Advanced Excel skills and experience using ERP/finance systems
