Full Job Description

Financial Reporting:

  • Support external bookkeepers & accountants in preparing monthly Management Accounts & Year End Statuatory accounts

  • Weekly cashflow forecast

  • Daily report on actual v forecast revenue and actual staff cost as % of Rev

  • Prepare weekly internal Sales Reports


  • Payroll:
  • Review HR-related paperwork before submitted for payroll processing.

  • Review staff hours on a weekly basis (in our time and attendance system) and prepare information ready for payroll processing.

  • Work with managers to ensure they forecast payroll/rota in advance.


  • Training:
  • Training & supervising management team to ensure implementation of financial processes


  • Cost Control:
  • Monitor and control costs, including food and beverage costs, labour costs, and overhead expenses

  • Implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality or customer satisfaction

  • Approve payments submitted by colleagues


  • Cash Management:
  • Manage cash flow to ensure the operation has sufficient funds for daily operations.


  • Budgeting and Forecasting:
  • Support the develop and management of the annual budget

  • Create financial forecasts based on historical data, trends and strategy

  • Monitor and analyze financial performance against budget and forecasts


  • Inventory Management:
  • Implement effective inventory control procedures to minimize waste and losses.

  • Monitor and analyze inventory levels and costs.


  • Procurement Management:
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure favourable terms and pricing.

  • Evaluate supplier performance and identify opportunities for cost savings


  • Technology and Systems:
  • Take ownership of the relevant financial management software, implement improvements

  • Stay updated on technology trends that could benefit the financial operations


  • As the hands-on Financial Controller you will need to be detail-oriented, possess strong analytical skills, and have a deep understanding of the unique financial challenges within the food and beverage industry. You must also be adept at communication and collaboration with other departments to ensure overall business success. Specifically, you will be collaborating with venue management and training them in the new controlling processes and procedures.

    GCSE or equivalent (preferred)


  • Experience:
  • Microsoft Office: 3 years (preferred)
