Full Job Description
Cooper Parry Finance Recruitment is delighted to be supporting this dynamic, high growth organisation with the appointment of a high-calibre Financial Modelling Analyst to join their finance team. You will join a market-leading organisation with ambitious growth plans and a strong focus on delivering exceptional service to its customers. The finance function plays a pivotal role in supporting the organisation’s strategic direction, ensuring robust financial planning, and driving continuous improvement across the business. The team operates in a hard-working yet lively and collaborative environment, where knowledge sharing, continuous learning and personal development are actively encouraged. This role offers hybrid working, with a minimum of 2 days in-office working. This is a hands-on role where the ability to build, maintain and scrutinise complex financial models is essential.
The Job Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Deputy Finance Director, this is a highly visible role with regular exposure to the senior leadership team. You will play an instrumental part in shaping financial insight and supporting key decision-making across the organisation. This role has no direct reports but you will work closely with a range of stakeholders across finance and beyond to shape financial models, budgets, forecasts and reporting.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Ownership, development and maintenance of group-wide financial models covering P&L, Balance Sheet and Cashflow, supporting budgeting and forecasting cycles (annual, bi-annual and quarterly)
- Preparation of high-quality budget packs, including insightful commentary for executive and board-level review
- Ensuring model integrity, alongside ongoing enhancement and optimisation of existing models
- Partnering with finance colleagues and wider stakeholders to deliver budgets, reforecasts, headcount planning and KPI reporting
- Providing detailed analysis, including scenario modelling and sensitivity analysis, to assess risks and opportunities
- Supporting complex strategic initiatives such as M&A, restructuring, refinancing and due diligence activities
- Contributing to the evolution of financial planning processes, systems and methodologies
- Liaising with external auditors and supporting compliance and reporting requirements
This role is critical in supporting company strategic objectives, including maximising profitability, improving operational efficiency and maintaining strong liquidity management. This role has arisen due to internal promotion, highlighting the company drive to progress and develop staff from within the team.
The Person
We are keen to speak with ambitious and commercially minded finance professionals who can demonstrate strong technical financial modelling expertise alongside excellent communication skills.
You will bring:
- A recognised professional qualification (CIMA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
- Proven experience in financial modelling, with advanced Excel capabilities in a sizeable multi-entity business
- Experience supporting budgeting and forecasting within a group environment
- A proactive, hands-on approach with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
- The confidence and presence to engage effectively with senior stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Exposure to tools such as Power BI and experience working on strategic projects (e.g. M&A or financing activities) would be advantageous, though not essential. This role requires an individual who is comfortable taking responsibility, making decisions, and bringing new ideas to the table.
What’s in it for you?
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing and ambitious organisation in a role that offers:
- Significant exposure to senior leadership
- The chance to work on high-impact projects that shape the future of the business
- A collaborative and supportive team culture with a strong emphasis on learning and development
- The opportunity to further build and refine advanced financial modelling expertise
Terms and Benefits
- Salary up to £75,000 depending on experience
- Hybrid working - 2 days a week in office
- Performance-based bonus (individual and company elements)
- 28 days holiday increasing with service to a maximum of 33 days
- Enhanced company sick pay
- Life assurance policy
- Pension contribution– employer 6%, employee 5%
- Ongoing professional development
