Fitter

McPhee Mixers is looking for a skilled and motivated Fitter to join our growing team in Motherwell. If you enjoy hands-on work, problem-solving, and being part of a fast-paced engineering environment, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. As a Fitter, you'll play a key role in assembling and installing components on commercial vehicles to meet customer specifications. Your responsibilities will include:

• Assembling and fitting truck components, hydraulics, and ancillary equipment
• Reading and interpreting CAD drawings and build specifications
• Completing jobs within agreed timescales and to a high standard
• Accurately completing job cards in line with Type Approval requirements
• Carrying out installations and repairs on customer sites when required
• Ensuring all vehicles pass quality control checks before sign-off
• Maintaining compliance with COP and Type Approval standards
• Following all Health & Safety procedures
• Supporting general workshop duties as required
  
  Experience with MIG welding (steel/ferrous metals)
• Experience working with hydraulic systems
• Ability to work independently and use your own initiative
• Strong communication skills
• Physically fit (lifting, bending, and manual handling required)
• Full, clean UK driving licence
Preferred:
• Previous fabrication experience
• Experience diagnosing and solving hydraulic issues
