Hillcrest Futures is recruiting for Flexible Support Workers. Various hours per month are available across our Edinburgh Services.About the ServiceThere are vacancies for Flexible Support Workers in our Edinburgh Services; St John’s Hill, Bruntsfield and Oxgangs. We support individuals who are homeless and most likely to have experienced some level of trauma, exclusion and stigma in their life.About the RoleThe role will involve:Providing emotional and practical supportSupporting individuals to develop and maintain independent living skills.Support to access community-based services/resourcesPromotion of positive mental health including coping strategiesAbout YouYou will:Have a positive, flexible attitude, with an encouraging natureHave excellent communication skills including verbal and writtenBe highly organised with the ability to work on own initiativeHave the ability to react efficiently and effectively in emergency situationsBe open to attending and maintaining ongoing training needsPossess an SVQ 2 in Health and Social Care or have the ability to work towards this qualificationHave flexibility with shifts patterns including weekend work and evenings.All successful candidates will be required to obtain registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 6 months of taking up the post.About the Benefits32 days minimum annual leave (based on full time hours)Option to buy or sell annual leave (subject to eligibility)Family Friendly PoliciesDeath in Service (three times annual salary or a minimum of £10,000)Defined contribution pension scheme available:Contributions = 5% Employee and 4% EmployerHome and Tech Scheme: Spread the cost through salary sacrifice and save up to 8% on thousands of home and tech products at IKEA and Currys (subject to eligibility)Cycle to Work Scheme: Spread the cost through salary sacrifice and save up to 47% on bikes and accessories (up to £2,000) (subject to eligibility)Enhanced Health Care Package including:£50 towards chiropody and podiatry£60 towards dental care£75 towards the costs of eye related care£150 towards Practitioner fees, including physiotherapy£200 Birth and Adoption grant (subject to eligibility)£200 towards specialist consultations and investigationsUnlimited access to a 24/7 online GP, mental health support and virtual wellbeing via the WeCare App by Canada LifeAccess to Perkbox: providing a wide range of deals and discounts including Argos, IKEA and many more, None specified
