West Lothian Council is seeking an experienced and motivated FM Area Services Manager to lead the delivery of Facilities Management services covering catering, cleaning, janitorial and school crossing patrol services.

Based at Whitehill Service Centre in Bathgate and reporting to the FM Service Manager, the postholder will provide a key point of contact for routine and reactive service delivery, ensuring services are efficient, responsive, compliant and focused on best value for customers.

The role will involve leading multi-functional teams, managing resources and budgets, supporting service planning, driving health and safety and statutory compliance, developing strong relationships with schools, service users and stakeholders, and contributing to service improvement, project delivery and quality assurance.

Applicants should have a degree or equivalent level of qualification and experience, significant senior-level facilities management experience in a multi-site environment, strong people and project management skills, and a sound understanding of relevant food hygiene, nutrition, health and safety and public sector requirements.

This post is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011 preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council
