The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Games Family Service Centre Deputy Manager to join the Protocol team and play a key role in delivering a welcoming and professional experience for the Games Family throughout Glasgow 2026. Based within the Games Family Hotel, you'll help provide support to senior delegates from Commonwealth Games Associations, International Federations, Commonwealth Sport, international dignitaries and senior leaders from across the Games.
Acting as one of the central points of contact for this important client group, you'll help ensure questions are answered quickly, issues are resolved effectively and visitors receive a consistently high standard of service throughout their stay. Working closely with colleagues across the Organising Company and Commonwealth Sport, you'll help coordinate information, services and support that contribute to a seamless Games experience.
Collaboration will be at the heart of the role as you support the Games Family Service Centre Manager in leading a team of staff, volunteers and Commonwealth Sport colleagues. Operating within a dynamic environment and across extended operating hours, you'll help maintain high service standards, motivate the team and ensure guests receive a warm and memorable welcome to Glasgow and Scotland.
Job Summary
Joining Glasgow 2026 as a Games Family Service Centre Deputy Manager offers the opportunity to play a central role in supporting some of the Games' most important stakeholders. Strong communication, leadership and customer service skills will be essential as you help coordinate the day-to-day operation of the Games Family Service Centre.
Day-to-day responsibilities will include responding to enquiries, providing information about Glasgow and Games services, supporting reception events and transport activity, and coordinating with functional areas across the Organising Company to resolve issues as they arise.
A proactive and adaptable approach will be important, particularly when balancing competing priorities and responding to changing operational requirements.
Success in this role will come from your ability to build strong relationships, lead by example and remain calm under pressure.
Most importantly, you'll help create a positive and memorable experience for Games Family members, ensuring they receive exceptional service throughout their time at Glasgow 2026.
Key Skills and Experience
We're looking for someone with excellent customer service and communication skills, combined with experience engaging confidently with senior leaders, dignitaries and stakeholders from a wide range of cultural and professional backgrounds. Previous experience within hospitality, events, guest services, customer operations or major event environments would be highly beneficial.
Strong problem-solving abilities will be essential, alongside the capability to prioritise issues effectively and identify solutions within a fast-moving operational environment.
Experience leading teams, supporting volunteers and maintaining high standards of service delivery will help you succeed in this role.
A flexible and adaptable approach will be important, particularly when responding to changing priorities and operational demands. Excellent team-working skills, a willingness to learn quickly and the ability to build effective relationships across multiple functional areas will also be key.
Previous experience working on a major sporting event and local knowledge of Glasgow would be advantageous.
