General Foreperson Location - Aberdeen, Scotland Purpose of the role: As a General Foreperson, on our high profile Aberdeen Streetscape project in Aberdeen city centre, you will manage daily construction activities, ensuring a safe working environment and effective resource coordination. You will work closely with the Site Agent and Project Manager in order to ensure that safety, quality, and program standards are met while maintaining clear communication with all teams. What will you be doing: Help create and maintain a "Knowingly Safe" working environment for everyone on site. Manage the day-to-day delivery of site-based construction works. Coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractors to support programme and cost targets. Ensure temporary and permanent works are delivered in line with approved designs and specifications. Support planning and programming activities with the site engineering and delivery teams. Attend and contribute to site coordination meetings to support smooth delivery of works. Ensure RAMS, COSHH assessments and Permit to Work systems are in place and followed before work starts. Lead site inductions, deliver toolbox talks/briefings, supervise subcontractors to ensure safe, high-quality work, and keep accurate site records (including diaries and check sheets).
Strong commitment to working safely and following safety procedures, including delivering toolbox talks and briefings. Confident communicator, able to work effectively with site teams, subcontractors and clients. Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, staying calm and professional under pressure. Able to deliver construction works in line with ITPs, quality standards and project documentation, and interpret design drawings. Relevant sector and discipline experience (e.g. Highways, Rail, Water or Aviation; earthworks, structures, drainage). Holds relevant qualifications such as SMSTS and CSCS with Office 365 skills
