Full Job Description

As an experienced Generator Engineer, you will be responsible for the onsite servicing and maintenance of our fleet of generators. You will also support in the servicing and repair of our heavy plant machinery and equipment ready for hire. Your responsibilities in this role will be to:

  • Professionally and effectively checking and diagnosing mechanical faults

  • Repair and replace of faulty parts

  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance in line with company standards

  • Provide the best possible turnaround for Off Hires and offer advice and guidance on best practice to minimise downtime

  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations, including safety checks, implementing safe working procedures, and escalating further concerns to supervisor/ plant operations manager

  • Complete clear and concise documentation /paperwork on all job tasks

  • Ensure high quality company standards and understanding the impact of great customer service.

    A solid understanding of mechanics, hydraulics, and electrical systems specific to the operations of generators and/or heavy plant machinery

  • You will be qualified to (S)NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent (desirable)

  • Be a CSCS Gold Card holder (desirable)

  • Experience gained in the Plant Industry

  • Excellent analytic and problem solving skills

  • An effective communicator, specifically in explaining technical issues

  • The ability to work in a busy environment

  • Customer focused
