Full Job Description

Reporting to the Governance & Compliance Manager, the Governance & Compliance Coordinator will work with the rest of the Governance & Compliance Team across all aspects of information governance including records management, data protection, Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 and Environmental Information (Scotland) Regulations 2004 as well as broader corporate governance and compliance requirements to help us ensure we meet our obligations as a Scottish public authority and support delivery of our corporate objectives.

The postholder will also support the ongoing development and implementation of a governance, risk and compliance framework for Zero Waste Scotland, working with teams across the organisation to review policies and support impact assessments, as well as gathering and reporting appropriate information to provide assurance of compliance with statutory and regulatory duties, and actively encouraging continuous improvement and best practice.

The Governance & Compliance Team’s role is to be the trusted advisor working collaboratively across the organisation, to enable and support our pioneering work from a solid compliance foundation with appropriate governance guardrails in place within which the organisation can take a flexible and proportionate approach to achieve our objectives. The Governance & Compliance Coordinator will play their part in delivering that high-quality service.
