Graduate Planner

35 hours per week
Permanent
£34,531 - £37,816 / £18.92 - £20.72 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance)

We have now commenced the review of our Local Development Plan and are looking for a Graduate Planner with Geographical Information System (GIS) skills to support evidence gathering and the drafting and monitoring of the Plan. As a small team you will be able to work within a number of planning areas and be able to develop your working knowledge and skill set.

Year on year we are seen to be one of the best places to live in the UK and Orkney’s historic and natural environments are world renowned.

This role provides a unique opportunity to live and work in this beautiful location and work to sustain Orkney’s rural and remote communities.

You should be educated to degree level in planning or a related topic and be eligible for member at student, licentiate or associate level of the Royal Town Planning Institute.

You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
