Full Job Description
This graduate post sits within the Planning Unit of the Growth, Planning and Climate Change Division. There are two parts of the planning service; Development Planning which deals with the local development plan and policy matters, and Development Management which deals with planning applications, listed building consents, planning enforcement and related matters. This graduate post will offer experience in both parts of the planning service including work and experience on:
- Contributing to the next stages of Local Development Plan 3 (LDP3) and the Future Falkirk project, including data collection and analysis.
- Supporting the assessment of a wide range of planning applications, using technical systems and mapping, and working with clients, agents and applicants.
An HND or above in Town and Country Planning, Urban and Regional Planning, Architecture, Design, Geography, Environmental Planning or other RTPI recognised relevant subject. We look for core skills for all our graduate posts which are: - Good written and oral communication

- Ability to use your initiative and organise your own workload Experience with GIS mapping systems, databases, and media platforms is desirable. Knowledge of land-use planning policy-covering environmental, economic, and social issues-is also desirable. The role will involve occasional travel to sites within the Council area, as well as attendance at meetings held at other locations as part of work duties. A full driving licence is desirable, and pool cars are available for business use., This role offers hybrid working, allowing employees to work both from home and in Council locations, to support business needs.
