Group Environmental Specialist

Reporting into the Group Environmental Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing the Company-wide Waste Management strategy and updating the associated documents according to business requirements. The candidate will contribute to developing a robust and mature Waste Management Compliance plan in line with global and local legislative requirements.

What will you be doing?

• Responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of processes, procedures, work methods and initiatives in support of the Company's overall environmental strategies.


• Advise on external 'Circular Economy' and 'Waste' best practise.


• Complete a waste 'deep dive' - understand our waste data and make recommendations for improvement.


• Work closely with engineering and supply chain management functions to develop environmental initiatives.


• Auditing of environmental management systems.


• Liaising with all regions and worksites to coordinate waste management, collate data and share best practice.


• Prepare for future environmental legislative requirements.


• Support Group Environmental function with Environmental Management System (EMS).


• Support the Group Environmental Director with environmental planning and strategy.


• Work with Projects & Offshore Operations to improve robustness of offshore waste data.


• Assist in response to environmental incidents and risks as required.


• Ensure HSE capitalises from lessons learned and is performed in accordance with best practice, continuing to identify risks and opportunities.
  
  Degree / Academic qualification in an Environment-related discipline, HSEQ, Sustainability, Business / Commercial or Engineering.


• Relevant experience in an Environmental or Sustainability role.


• Experience in Waste Management.


• Think effectively and be able to challenge and work with various layers of the organisation and in a team.


• Creative and result-oriented attitude.


• Strong networking, influencing, communication, presentation and analytical skills.


• Passion for Environment and Sustainability.


• Willingness to travel when required for the job.
