Full Job Description
We are currently looking for a talented and motivated Hazard Study Facilitator to join our design team in Leeds, Edinburgh, Glasgow or Birmingham as part of a multi-disciplinary department providing detailed designs for water related projects in the UK. This role can be worked flexibly with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office and the option of adjusted start and finish times. We will also consider part-time applications. We'll support you to continue to develop your technical expertise so that you can become a real difference maker and develop sustainable and innovative solutions to address these issues. You'll join a growing team of Engineers working together towards the best client outcomes. We are looking for individuals who can challenge conventional thinking and work collaboratively to meet a wide range of business, environment and regulatory challenges for these clients. The role offers an opportunity for successful candidates to broaden and diversify their expertise. What does the role involve?
- Facilitate hazard studies (HAZID, SWIFT, HazOp, ALMs) to identify major hazards, evaluate safeguards, and determine risk reduction requirements.
- Develop and maintain hazard study tools, templates, and best practice guidance to improve consistency and effectiveness of hazard studies and risk assessments.
- Ensure delivery of hazard studies in line with agreed scope, schedules, and budgets.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, stakeholders, and suppliers to support successful delivery of hazard study activities.

- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Chartered status with the IMechE or IChemE (or equivalent).
- Extensive knowledge and experience of mechanical design for the water industry.
- Experience in the delivery of water designs and specifications on water related projects for Water Companies, Contractors and industry.
- An appreciation of the implications of works on the environment and knowledge of sustainable solutions, water and wastewater processes and health and safety legislation.
