Experteer Overview As Head of AI & Analytics at Ofgem, you will lead the organisation's data science and analytics capability to deliver measurable value. You will shape strategy, build and mentor teams, and translate business needs into AI-driven solutions within a regulated, public-interest context. You'll champion responsible AI, balance innovation with governance, and help Ofgem use data insight to support a fairer, more secure energy future. This is a high-impact, cross-cutting leadership role with a clear transformation agenda. Pay / Benefits

  • Lead AI, data science and analytics capability, setting direction and best practices Build and develop high-performing data science teams and mentor senior specialists Identify and shape opportunities for AI and analytics to deliver business value Oversee development and deployment of data science solutions (models, dashboards, analytical products) Champion data ethics and responsible AI, ensuring governance and privacy standards Collaborate with senior stakeholders to translate needs into data-driven solutions Manage resources, budgets and external partnerships to deliver initiatives Contribute to wider data and AI strategy with platform, engineering and governance teams Foster experimentation, iteration and continuous learning across the function Stay at the forefront of techniques to drive innovation and real-world adoption of analytical products Tasks Extensive experience designing, developing and embedding data science solutions with business impact Strong expertise in AI/data science tools and techniques (Python, Azure Machine Learning, Azure Foundry, Copilot Studio, SQL, Power BI) Proven ability to identify opportunities and translate them into scalable AI/data products Extensive expertise in data ethics, privacy and responsible AI practices Experience building data science capability within an organisation Desirable: AI/data product delivery experience and decision-making on priorities; familiarity with government/regulated environments Key requirements 30 days annual leave after 2 years Civil Service pension scheme hybrid working (1 day in office currently) flexible working hours family friendly policies training and development opportunities
