Business Role Rationale: Head of Cables - Scotland

To support the continued growth of the Scottish business and increasing demand for underground (UG) cabling services, the creation of a Head of Cables (Scotland) role is strategically critical.

This role will provide dedicated leadership, governance, and capability development across all UG cable activities, ensuring the business is positioned to deliver safely, efficiently, and at scale.

Key Drivers for the Role:
Strengthened Governance & Delivery Assurance
Establish robust oversight of all current and future UG projects, ensuring consistent application of standards, improved risk management, and enhanced project performance across safety, quality, cost, and programme.

Strategic Relationship Management
Build, maintain, and evolve key client and stakeholder relationships, positioning the business as a trusted delivery partner and enabling early engagement on future opportunities.

Capability Growth & Market Expansion
Lead the structured growth of the UG cabling function, aligning resources, skills, and supply chain capacity to meet increasing customer demand and support long-term pipeline opportunities.

Operational Consistency & Best Practice
Drive standardisation of processes, innovation, and continuous improvement across all cable operations, ensuring scalable and repeatable delivery excellence.

The introduction of this role will ensure greater control, stronger client alignment, and accelerated growth of the UG cabling offering in Scotland, directly supporting the organisation's strategic objectives and reinforcing its position within the market.
