Head of Football (Part-time, Term-time)

Hours: Part-time (15 hours per week), term time only. There may be opportunities for additional paid hours through involvement in fixtures, competitions, tours, holiday camps, and wider football programme activities.

Start Date: October/November 2026

Hamilton College is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, experienced, and ambitious Head of Football to lead and further develop our football programme across both the Junior and Senior School.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role within a supportive and ambitious school community, building upon the strong foundations already in place and contributing to the continued growth of football at Hamilton College.

Working closely with the Director of Sport, the successful candidate will provide strategic leadership for football, fostering participation, enhancing performance, and creating outstanding experiences for pupils of all abilities.

Reporting to the Director of Sport, responsibilities will include:

·      Leading and overseeing the Hamilton College football programme from Junior School through to Senior School.

·      Planning and delivering high-quality football coaching sessions.

·      Coordinating curriculum and co-curricular football provision.

·      Managing team selections and supporting pupils' development pathways.

·      Leading teams at fixtures, festivals, tournaments, and competitions.

·      Supporting and mentoring coaching staff involved within the football programme.

·      Contributing to the continued growth and development of football participation and performance across the school.

·      Promoting the values of teamwork, respect, commitment, and sporting excellence.

·      Supporting talent identification and creating opportunities for pupils to progress within the sport.

·      Assisting with football-related events, festivals, and community engagement opportunities.

·      Developing and maintaining strong relationships with local clubs, governing bodies, and community partners to create opportunities for pupils and support the continued growth and development of football at Hamilton College.

·      Have significant experience coaching football within a school, club, or performance environment.

·      Can inspire and motivate young people of all abilities.

·      Demonstrate excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.

·      Have experience managing teams, fixtures, and football programmes.

·      Are committed to promoting participation, enjoyment, and excellence in football.

·      Are willing to contribute positively to the wider life of the school.

Relevant football coaching qualifications and safeguarding awareness are essential. Experience working with young people in an educational setting would be advantageous.
