Distribution has an ambitious and balanced plan to power communities to net zero, and to support the delivery of this we are looking to recruit an equally ambitious Head of Transformation Management Office (TMO) to drive and mature our Transformation Management Office, working with the business to optimise, deliver and embed the full scope of our transformation portfolio.

The role will work with the TMO team, the relevant business and project teams to ensure integrated and successful delivery of business change activities across all disciplines.

About the role

Distribution's Business TMO provides governance and support across the business's transformation efforts. The TMO will be responsible for ensuring a robust and rigorous Transformation Portfolio delivery processes (governance, reporting, cost management, benefits management, risk management, strategic alignment, portfolio prioritisation & optimisation, portfolio analysis, scenario planning and MI development)for the safe and effective delivery of transformation.

The Head of TMO role will centrally manage and drive the necessary governance, controls, and rigor, ensuring benefit realisation and risk mitigation against prioritised transformation change delivery, spanning across the prioritised Transformation Portfolio whilst delivering portfolio management activities, to ensure the changes are successfully embedded.

You will provide thought leadership and challenge in current operating methodologies to ensure we have a holistic focused portfolio view to build a coherent and integrated view of all programme activities, interdependencies and challenges.

You will work across teams and engage with the right stakeholders to gain the level of input and expertise required to progress our change goals with the resilience and determination needed to deliver, as well as in the face of uncertainty and ambiguity. Strategic thinking and the ability to see the bigger picture and align team activity to medium and long-term business / change goals.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

  • Portfolio, programme, and project management (P&PM): Excellent understanding and prior experiences with internal P&PM activities, methodology, and leading practices for complex change initiatives

  • Business context: Excellent understanding of SSEN strategic business drivers and implications for portfolio delivery

  • Leadership: Ability to manage a team and build productive and collaborative relationships with team members, providing strategic direction and developing team capability

  • Stakeholder engagement: Ability to work seamlessly with Responsible Directors and Programme Leads via relevant governance forums to ensure effective portfolio delivery

    Salary: £63,000 - £94,400 + car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing, and family.
