Elphinstone Primary School is the local non-denominational, co-educational school for the village of Elphinstone.

The school stands in the beautiful East Lothian countryside. The original building is Victorian and was rebuilt in 1924 with an extension added in August 2003. There are plans for a further extension to the school in line with increasing house developments in the village. Elphinstone currently has a roll of 48 pupils from P1 to P7. There are a further 20 children accessing the nursery. The school feeds into Ross High School, Tranent. All the schools in the Associated School Group enjoy a close, collaborative and supportive relationship.

The school benefits from an active Parent Council who are very supportive of the school and work collaboratively to ensure it is an integral part of the community. Developing positive relationships and working in partnerships with families and local community is core to the school's practice.
