The Role
We are seeking a Health and Safety Coordinator to join our team within the Chief Executive Office and support the delivery of a safe and secure Commonwealth Games.
Working closely with the Head of Health & Safety, you will play a key role in embedding health and safety practices across the Organising Company, supporting the development of systems, processes and behaviours that ensure a safe experience for everyone involved in Glasgow 2026.
Job Summary:
As Health and Safety Coordinator, you will support the mobilisation and delivery of the Glasgow 2026 Health and Safety Strategy, helping to create a strong and positive safety culture across the organisation. Working across multiple teams and stakeholders, you will contribute to the development of key frameworks, training programmes and operational processes that underpin safe and effective Games delivery.
Through a combination of planning, coordination and continuous improvement, you will help ensure that health and safety is embedded in everything we do, supporting both workforce wellbeing and operational excellence in a fast-paced environment.
Key Skills and Experience:
To succeed in this role, you will bring experience of supporting or delivering health and safety programmes within a complex or fast-paced environment. A recognised health and safety qualification such as NEBOSH or IOSH will be desirable, alongside a strong understanding of how to implement effective safety practices and frameworks.
You will also have advanced level experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint, with the ability to confidently produce reports, analyse data, and create clear, professional presentations.
You will be an excellent communicator, confident working with a wide range of stakeholders and able to influence and build positive working relationships. Strong organisational and analytical skills will enable you to manage multiple priorities, solve problems effectively and maintain high standards of accuracy and detail.
Experience of working in large-scale operations, major events or complex programmes would be advantageous, particularly in environments that require pace, adaptability and collaboration.
