Full Job Description

Working as part of a team, the Corporate H&S Officer post provides a focal point in managing operational risk across the Council. The postholder is responsible for supporting Council services in the implementation of Council H&S policies and guidance through the provision of accurate advice, incident investigation, inspections/audits and training.

With a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent and Membership of IOSH, you will have relevant experience of working within a unionised environment. You must be IT literate with the ability to analyse and summarise data from complex data sources. Good written and verbal interpersonal skills are required to effectively communicate with a range of people and the ability to develop and present training courses is essential. You must understand the legislative background and be able to effectively negotiate with people at all levels within the Council. Flexibility and time management are also key skills.
