Full Job Description

Copart are looking for HGV Drivers to join our team, working from Operation Centre in Whitburn.

You'll be working from Monday to Friday, with no nights out or bank holiday working, so you'll benefit from a great work-life balance and have more time to yourself.

Copart is the global leader in online vehicle remarketing and recycling, working in partnership with many of the world's leading insurance companies, banks, automotive dealers, fleet and rental car companies.

We currently operate in more than 200 locations in 11 countries and have over 125,000 vehicles up for auction every day. We've seen large scale growth since we entered the UK market in 2007 and have exciting plans to continue this growth.

A Copart Driver loads, collects and delivers predominantly accident damaged vehicles of all shapes, sizes and conditions on our salvage transporters and therefore the role can be physically demanding. We work on behalf of our insurance and automotive customers, to service agreements.

They carry out internal and external checks on their trucks and equipment and report any defects, photograph any damage and carry out inspections of all collected and delivered vehicles.

Copart Drivers must comply with legal and company requirements of a professional driver and operate the vehicle and loading equipment in a safe and efficient manner, following all H&S policies and procedures.

No transporter experience? No problem - we'll provide you with everything you need! You'll be supported through 3 weeks of the very best job related 1-2-1 training and benefit from our bespoke designed annual CPC training.

What we need from you:

HGV Licence Class 1 or Class 2

A good understanding of the EC Drivers Hours and Working Time regulations

Driving experience in both rural and urban environments

Great communication skills, both written and verbal

Excellent customer service skills

Strong attention to detail

Confident in the use of handheld devices, with experience in the use of basic IT applications

Adaptable, with the ability to organise and adjust your working day

Car transportation or recovery experience would be an advantage, but isn't essential

Monday to Friday working, with no nights out or bank holiday working

23 days holiday plus bank holidays and an additional day per year to celebrate a special occasion

A further paid day to volunteer for a charity of your choice

Company uniform and PPE

Annual CPC training

Contributory workplace pension plan

Medicash Cover - look after you and your family by providing a range of positive healthcare benefits

Cycle to Work Scheme

Life Assurance cover

The ability to purchase shares in our successful global company at a discounted rate

An exclusive deals and discounts website, saving you money on everyday purchases, treats for the family, eating out, and utility bills for the home

All offers of employment are subject to receipt of proof of right to work in the UK documentation and satisfactory Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) and reference checks to the Company
