HGV Mechanic - Renfrew - ONGOING

Key Responsibilities

• Inspections: Carry out scheduled Preventative Maintenance Inspections (PMI) on trucks and trailers.
• Diagnostics: Use specialised diagnostic equipment to find and fix electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic faults.
• Repairs: Replace or repair engines, gearboxes, braking systems (ABS/EBS), steering, and suspension components.
• MOT Preparation: Get commercial vehicles ready for annual MOT tests.
• Record Keeping: Complete job cards, maintenance logs, and health and safety paperwork accurately.

Standard Requirements

• Qualifications: A relevant level in heavy or light vehicle maintenance (such as City & Guilds or NVQ) or proven time-served commercial experience.
• Licence: A valid UK driving licence (an HGV Class C or C+E licence is often preferred or advantageous).
• Skills: Strong fault-finding abilities, hand tool proficiency, and knowledge of workshop safety rules.
