High Voltage Electrician

The High Voltage Electrician will be responsible for carrying out installation, maintenance, testing, and commissioning of high voltage electrical systems, ensuring compliance with all relevant safety standards and internal company procedures.,

• Oversee electrical work on schemes, including testing and commissioning of Low Voltage and High Voltage electrical equipment
• Participate in the creation and review of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
• Participate in the preparation of switching schedules and carry out switching, isolation and earthing duties
• Perform planned and unplanned maintenance activities on electrical equipment
• Carry out basic protection testing on HV equipment
• Undertake troubleshooting and fault-finding when required
• Reactive to emergencies, site outages and changing circumstances
• Provide technical input where required for infrastructure developments
• Identify and resolve operational issues on site
• Review and implement contents of site safety documentation / policies / procedures
• Work with other business critical teams to create outage programs for maintenance
• Liaise with suppliers and other contractors when performing activities on the Cathcart site

• Holds High Voltage Engineer Qualification
• Over 5 + years' experience as an HV Electrician in a manufacturing / testing environment especially on pumps / rotating equipment
• Previous experience working with induction motors, transformers and variable frequency drives.
