Hostel Manager

Hostelling Scotland, a vibrant charity with stunning properties across the country, is seeking a dynamic Hostel Manager to lead our team at the Oban Youth Hostel, with overarching responsibility for the Port Charlotte, Lochranza & Tobermory Hostels (Argyll group). This is your chance to make a real difference in our guests' experiences while living and working in one of Scotland's most breath-taking regions., As Hostel Manager, you'll be more than just a manager - you'll be a leader, a team builder, and a community champion. You'll be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Oban Youth Hostel, ensuring exceptional guest service, managing your team's performance, and driving revenue growth. You'll also play a key role in the wider Hostelling Scotland management team, collaborating with other managers across the country.

What You'll Do:

Lead and inspire your team to deliver outstanding guest experiences.

Manage all aspects of hostel operations, from bookings and revenue management to maintenance and housekeeping.

Develop and implement strategies to increase revenue and optimise hostel services.

Build strong relationships with local communities and businesses.

Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including food safety (training provided if needed).

Collaborate with the Operations Manager for support and guidance.

Be prepared to "muck in" and support the team when needed, including assisting with changeovers (a reasonable level of physical fitness is required).
