The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members , and this cost will be deducted from an employee's first FULL month's salary payment. Job purpose/about the role To work as part of a team and take responsibility for the delivery of high-quality care to the young people who board (term-time) at

• SSSC/GTC Registration or willing to become a member within 3 months of
commencing post
• Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG)
• A SVQ Level 3 (Children and Young People) & HNC in Social Care or a social work or
equivalent registerable qualification (See SSSC website) is preferable, but not essential but all successful candidates will have to undertake the relevant,
• Working with young people
• Keeping clear and accurate records
• The ability to make decisions and take responsibility for own practice, seeking advice
and support as necessary
• Good practice; recognizing support needs, promoting dignity and respect and
exhibiting unconditional positive regard
• The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with young people,
their families and other stakeholders
• The ability to advocate on behalf of young people by ensuring that their views are
taken into account and that their rights are promoted and protected
• The ability to produce high quality written records and reports
• Good ICT skills
