Requirements

You will have 3 National 4 passes including English, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

You will provide a comprehensive back up service to Housing Options team by assisting with the investigation and assessment of households who present to the service and by assisting in providing information, advice and support to service users. The postholder will also assist with the ongoing management of cases by co-ordinating all services required or received by clients and by monitoring case progress. In addition, you will provide a comprehensive clerical and administrative service to both the Housing Options and Temporary Accommodation Teams.

The Individual

You will have knowledge of housing/homelessness legislation and issues and experience of working with the public in a front line service, together with experience of interviewing and telephone contact. You will have good communication skills both written and verbal and the ability to manage a caseload with minimum supervision. Processing/analytical skills are also required. You will be customer focussed, able to work under pressure, flexible/ adaptable and team orientated. This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
