Full Job Description
Working in Cyber Security is a big deal as we continue to play a key role in keeping Virgin Money safe. We're on an exciting journey with a big vision as we grow our team to enhance our security and cyber operations. We'll be working to identify threats to Virgin Money and the financial services sector and respond appropriately. You'll play an important role in helping us understand the threat landscape so we can protect ourselves from risk. This helps to inform our Cyber Strategy, Culture and Education work as well as direct investments to mitigate risks and prevent and detect attacks.
The Cyber Detect and Respond Operations Team supports the organisation's overall Cyber Security capabilities specifically focusing on enhancing our security posture against attacks to ensure we remain available to customer and colleagues.
What you'll be doing
+ Providing Expert Specialist level of knowledge and experience in Threat Hunting and Incident Response approaches and technologies. Taking a strategic view to influence and support architectural direction and planning.
+ Providing leadership and management of Threat Hunting and Incident Response team members, supporting, developing, coaching, and motivating team members to improve the overall knowledge and experience in the team.
+ Developing and maintaining a roadmap for the Threat Hunting and Incident Response practices, services, and technologies to ensure we remain in line with best practice approaches.
+ Taking the lead in the Innovation and continuous improvement to support the smooth of the delivery of detection and response capabilities (specifically in CSIRT and Threat Hunting) to perform more efficiently.
+ Collaboration and Leadership: Serve as a technical leader within the department, providing guidance and mentorship to team members. Work collaboratively with other technology teams to ensure a unified approach to cybersecurity across the organisation.
+ Stakeholder Engagement: Inform and advise senior management on cybersecurity issues, strategies, and risk management, ensuring a clear understanding of cybersecurity posture and initiatives.
+ Innovation and Best Practices: Keep abreast of the latest cybersecurity trends and technologies. Implement forward-thinking tools and practices to enhance the bank's security landscape.
We need you to have
+ Proven experience as a Leader in Cyber Security Operations, Incident Response, Threat Hunting, or similar leadership role in cybersecurity.
+ Deep understanding of NIST frameworks and their application in a cybersecurity context.
+ Strong analytical skills and experience with cybersecurity metrics and risk management.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and mentor teams.
+ Extensive experience in cyber security, with a strong background in security operations, threat detection, and incident response.

+ Expert in prioritising multiple activities in a rapidly changing environment
+ Flexibility regarding working hours / on call coverage
It's a bonus if you have but not essential
+ Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, GIAC or similar are highly desirable.
+ ITIL Service Management process awareness (Change, Incident & Problem Management processes).
+ Experience of operational security controls and product stack

If you're successful in securing a role with us, there are some checks you need to complete before starting.
