Income Maximisation Assistant - FTC 4 months

Job Title: Income Maximisation Assistant - 35 hours per week, fixed term until January 2027
Location: Glasgow
Salary: EVH Grade 5 31,792 - 35,332 per annum
Working Arrangement: Hybrid working

About the Role: We are working with a leading housing association who are committed to providing quality housing solutions and support to the community to recruit an Income Maximisation Assistant who will play a vital role in supporting tenants and maximising rental income.

This position will require you to work collaboratively with various agencies to ensure a positive impact on the community. The role is fixed-term until January 2027, with opportunities for further development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide administrative support for the Income Maximisation Team, including welfare rights and income management services.

• Answer phone calls and manage general inquiries on behalf of the team.

• Monitor former tenant arrears and maintain accurate records.

• Maintain relationships with agencies affecting Housing Benefit and Universal Credit.

• Process notifications regarding Direct Debits and communicate appropriately.

• Complete verification tasks through the Universal Credit Landlord Portal.

• Utilise social media to maintain contact with customers.

• Process housing benefit determination notices and prioritise suspended or cancelled cases.

• Provide cover for Reception staff as needed.

Qualifications:

• Experience using databases and internal systems.

• Basic knowledge of welfare benefits, particularly Housing Benefit and Universal Credit.

• Experience in debt recovery and financial record-keeping.

• Understanding of social landlord policies related to social housing tenancy.

Education Requirements:

• Relevant professional qualification or equivalent knowledge and experience.

Experience Requirements:

• Experience maximise rent payments through Housing Benefit and Universal Credit.

• Ability to set up repayment agreements and manage debt recovery processes.

• Experience working within a social housing environment is preferred.
