The Opportunity The Industrial Workspace Manager will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and effective management of AFRC’s industrial research facilities. This role ensures that the centre’s laboratories, workshops, and advanced manufacturing spaces are maintained to the highest standards, enabling delivery of world-class research and industry projects. The post-holder will manage technical staff, oversee compliance and safety, and coordinate facility operations to support AFRC’s strategic objectives. Degree qualified with proven experience managing industrial or research facilities in manufacturing, engineering, or R&D contexts, a strong track record in health & safety, compliance, and ISO/QMS frameworks. You will have experience managing teams of technical/operational staff and demonstrable experience in capital equipment projects and facility commissioning. This role may require the successful candidate to undertake UK security vetting. This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in the management of one of the UK’s leading advanced manufacturing research centres and work in a world-class environment, collaborating with industry leaders in aerospace, defence and materials.
