Full Job Description
Stantec delivers Interface Management services on some of the world's most complex hydropower projects-both major new builds and large-scale refurbishment schemes. Our work sits at the intersection of technical engineering, commercial strategy and digital delivery, ensuring that every discipline, contractor and stakeholder is aligned throughout the project lifecycle. As our portfolio continues to grow, we have openings for Interface Managers at a range of grades. You will join our Advisory Services team while also supporting projects across the wider Energy business, including Waterpower & Dams, Transmission & Distribution and Thermal sectors. This is an opportunity to work at the heart of major infrastructure programmes where clarity, coordination and risk management are critical to success. The Role As an Interface Manager, you will take responsibility for establishing and maintaining the processes that keep large, multidisciplinary projects aligned. You will work closely with clients, designers, contractors and third-party stakeholders to ensure that technical, commercial and programme interfaces are clearly defined, well managed and proactively resolved. Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and maintaining the Interface Management Plan, processes and governance
- Identifying, defining and managing interfaces across contractors, design disciplines and stakeholder groups
- Leading the creation and upkeep of the Interface Register, including ownership, dependencies and status
- Acting as the central coordination point for all interface-related issues
- Facilitating workshops, coordination meetings and technical alignment sessions
- Ensuring interface information is communicated clearly and consistently
- Supporting conflict resolution and escalation where required
- Identifying interface-related risks and opportunities and feeding these into the project risk register
- Monitoring interface impacts on programme, cost and quality
- Supporting change control by assessing interface implications of scope or design changes
- Ensuring interface requirements are reflected in contracts, scopes, drawings, specifications and BIM information exchanges
- Verifying that interface deliverables align with responsibilities and milestones
- Tracking performance and reporting progress to the Project Manager or Design Manager
- Contributing to audits, reviews and lessons-learned activities
- Playing an active role within the team, mentoring junior colleagues and sharing knowledge across the Energy business Your Impact Your work will sit at the centre of project delivery, shaping how teams collaborate and how risks are managed across complex engineering environments. By defining clear responsibilities, maintaining robust governance and ensuring information flows smoothly between parties, you will help prevent delays, reduce uncertainty and strengthen decision-making. You will be the person who sees the whole picture-connecting technical disciplines, commercial considerations and digital workflows. Your ability to anticipate issues, guide stakeholders and maintain alignment will directly influence project outcomes, from safety and quality to programme and cost performance. In a sector where the success of major hydropower and energy projects depends on seamless coordination, your impact will be both visible and lasting. This is a role for someone who thrives on coordination, clarity and problem-solving-bringing structure to complexity and ensuring that every part of the project moves forward together.
- A degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or a related discipline
- Experience in project management on major projects
- Experience in multidisciplinary coordination and engineering design
- Exposure to construction, installation or assembly within energy or infrastructure projects
- Familiarity with contract management principles, including scope definition and change control
- Knowledge of QA and H&S procedures
- Strong communication skills, including confident report writing
- Competence with Microsoft Office applications, including SharePoint

- Experience in software or information systems development
