Interim Assistant Accountant

Position: Interim Assistant Accountant

Duration: 6 months

Location: Ayrshire (office-based)

Start: Immediate

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 / day rate equivalent

Rutherford Cross is delighted to be supporting a well-established, family-owned business in Ayrshire to appoint an Interim Assistant Accountant for a 6-month period.

Key Responsibilities:

• Performing daily bank reconciliations
• Credit card reconciliations and analysis
• Supporting month-end close processes
• Posting journals, including accruals and prepayments
• Completing balance sheet reconciliations
• Assisting with cost analysis and reporting
• Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the general ledger
• Providing ad hoc support to the wider finance team

Skills & Experience:

• Previous experience in a similar role
• Strong attention to detail and good numerical skills
• Comfortable working with Excel and finance systems
• Well-organised, proactive, and able to meet deadlines
