Interim Finance Manager

Interim Finance Manager – Glasgow City Centre (Hybrid) – Up to £75k

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Interim Finance Manager to support a busy finance function in a fast‑paced environment. This role is based in Glasgow city centre with hybrid working and requires someone confident in leading month‑end, strengthening controls, and managing a small team.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Month-End

• Lead the month‑end close process, delivering timely and accurate management accounts including Balance Sheet, P&L and cashflow
• Ensure the integrity of the trial balance; prepare and review journals such as accruals and prepayments
• Oversee monthly balance sheet reconciliations and maintain robust financial controls

Team Leadership

• Manage and mentor a team of Finance Assistants with varying levels of experience
• Oversee daily workload, provide coaching, and support ongoing development
• Offer hands‑on support across transactional finance, including credit control, AP, and working capital processes

Cashflow & Forecasting

• Prepare and monitor cashflow forecasts, ensuring visibility of short‑ and long‑term liquidity
• Support working capital management and identify opportunities for improvement

Business Support & Governance

• Assist the Head of Finance with preparation of the monthly Board pack
• Maintain and enhance financial policies, processes, and internal controls
• Support regulatory and statutory compliance including VAT returns, year‑end reporting, and liaison with external auditors
