Full Job Description
Are you passionate about supporting social enterprises to grow and create lasting impact? Do you have expertise in cashflow modelling and experience assessing investment opportunities? If so, this could be the role for you.
We're looking for a financially skilled and people-focused Investment Associate to support ambitious social enterprises in transforming their vision into sustainable growth and social impact.
As an Investment Associate, you will play a key role in delivering our investment readiness and repayable investment programmes. Working with colleagues across the Investment team, you'll support social enterprises to understand their financial position, build robust cashflow forecasts, and prepare for investment. You'll combine financial expertise with relationship-building skills, working directly with social entrepreneurs to translate their ambitions into robust financial plans for growth.
The role involves supporting participants in our LaunchMe programme to strengthen their financial planning, develop cashflow models, and improve their investment readiness. You'll also contribute to the assessment of investment applications and support our portfolio of investees through post-investment activities.
You will assist in preparing reports and analysis for the Board and key stakeholders, support awareness-raising activities, and represent Firstport at external meetings and events.
To be successful in the role, you'll have experience in cashflow modelling, forecasting, and financial analysis, along with the ability to assess investment applications and provide strategic insight. You'll be confident analysing complex financial information and communicating it clearly through high-quality written reports and presentations. Experience supporting investments into startups, SMEs, or social enterprises, or experience in a finance role within a social enterprise, is essential.
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience across the full investment journey, while supporting the growth, sustainability and impact of social enterprises in Scotland.
