Full Job Description

This newly created role is seeking an Investment Office Analyst with a strong analytical mindset to join our team in our Edinburgh or London offices. This role sits within Royal London's Investment Office as part of the team responsible for the investment management of our Bulk Purchase Annuity (BPA) and annuity business.

The BPA and annuity business is a key area of growth for Royal London. We believe that we are ideally placed to be a partner of choice for our clients, whilst also providing an attractive returns, diversification and future financial protection for existing Profit Share members and Royal London.

The ideal candidate will have keen interest or knowledge of asset-liability management for BPA and annuity business. In this role you will work closely with the commercial team to assist the investment execution of new BPA business, including investment pricing, the onboarding process as well as supporting the ongoing management of the Matching Adjustment portfolio. You will help to develop, manage, and monitor this line of business playing an active role to support the successful growth of our BPA business.

The Investment Office is committed to supporting the successful candidate within this role as our Bulk Purchase Annuity (BPA) business grows.

About the role

  • Monitor, analyse and report investment pricing for BPA transactions.

  • Complete regular processes and tasks in line with approved frameworks for the investment management and execution of BPA business.

  • Support and contribute to the success of the Investment Office.

  • Assist in building existing and new relationships with key stakeholders across the Group inc. Royal London Asset Management (RLAM) and UK Commercial.

  • Provides support to the Group's governance committees.

  • Produce and / or actively contribute to papers, presentations, reports in line with Investment committee(s) agenda(s).

  • Maintain, identify, update, and review the investment risks & controls which contribute to the team's risk monitoring.

  • Assist in review and assessment of Investment Office against group Tier 1 policies to ensure operations are compliant.

    Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

  • Understanding of investments, derivatives, and asset-liability management.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience of working with data, systems, and reporting.

  • Experience of working within financial services and a working knowledge of the regulatory requirements for asset managers and/or insurers.

  • CFA designation or progress towards CFA is a desirable.
