Full Job Description
Newbattle Abbey College is seeking to appoint an IT Services and Digital Support Officer to support the delivery of high-quality IT services across the College.
Reporting to the Depute Principal, the post-holder will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the College’s IT systems, infrastructure and digital learning environment. You will provide responsive, user-focused technical support to staff and students, ensuring that technology effectively supports learning, teaching and business operations. The role spans day-to-day IT support, systems administration, and contribution to digital development projects.
We are looking for candidates who are proactive, solutions-focused and committed to delivering an excellent user experience. You will have experience of supporting IT systems and infrastructure, including cloud-based platforms such as Microsoft 365, and be confident working across a range of technologies including user devices and classroom AV systems. You will be able to manage competing priorities, take ownership of technical issues, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical users.
You will be educated to at least SCQF Level 7 (or equivalent) in a relevant subject, with a higher qualification or relevant certifications desirable. Experience of working in an educational environment and familiarity with IT service management approaches would be advantageous.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a unique College at an exciting stage of its development. You will be part of a committed and supportive team, working in a beautiful environment, and will see the immediate impact of your work as you support staff, students and the wider College community.
The post is part-time (0.8 FTE, 28 hours per week), permanent, with a salary of £34,927–£37,924 pro rata, alongside a generous pension scheme and holiday allowance.
Closing date for applications is 17th May 2026 (midnight)
Interviews will be held on 27th and/or 28th May 2026
