Justice Officer

Are you motivated by the opportunity to make a real difference in people’s lives and help build safer, stronger communities? Renfrewshire Justice Services are committed to providing high‑quality services while ensuring a compassionate approach for people accessing our services. We are offering an exciting opportunity to join our Justice Social Work Service as we continue to grow and enhance our early intervention and community‑based supports.

As a Justice Officer, you will play a key frontline role within our Justice Team. Your work will contribute directly to reducing reoffending and supporting individuals to achieve positive change.

In this varied and rewarding post, you will case manage individuals subject to Structured Deferred Sentences and Diversion from Prosecution, provide supervision and support for individuals on bail, helping them comply with conditions and access services.

This role will also require you to encourage voluntary engagement with people returning to the community after short custodial sentences, work alongside social workers to support statutory service users across a range of offence types and support colleagues across other Justice Teams as required.

It is essential that you have experience and knowledge of working in a Social Work setting and experience in co-working and multi-agency working.

You will have a positive attitude and be able to work in a focused approach, as well as the ability to communicate clearly.

Effective assessment and communication skills, report writing skills and effective IT skills are essential.

You must have effective interpersonal skills, the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing and the ability to work as part of a team.

It is essential that you are able to travel within the Renfrewshire Council Area, and able to work flexibly as there could be evening and weekend work as required.

A HNC or SVQ in criminal justice, social care or relevant qualification is essential.

If successful, you will be required to complete a Disclosure Scotland check at a level appropriate to the duties of the role. Further information is available at:
