Full Job Description
Please note: This post is a part time post for 17.5 hours per week.
The purpose of the Justice Officer role is to support the delivery of a statutory Justice Social Work Service in line with relevant legislation, national outcomes and local policy.
The role supports social workers with case management responsibilities and contributes to assessment, risk management and intervention delivery for individuals in contact with the justice system. This includes work with people subject to Bail Supervision, Diversion from Prosecution, Structured Deferred Sentence, Voluntary Throughcare and other justice pathways.
Justice Officers deliver direct interventions to individuals and small groups, contribute to risk processes, provide timely information to courts and partner agencies, and participate in multi-agency working to reduce reoffending, promote desistance and improve community safety.
Work is undertaken in accordance with departmental procedures, national guidance, and partnership arrangements. The candidate will represent the Social Work Service in multi-disciplinary forums in accordance with the Council or hosted stakeholder arrangements, through a Service Level Agreement or Partnership arrangement.
