About the Role

We’re seeking a Justice Worker to join a new Scottish Government-funded Bail Support pilot programme. This is a unique opportunity to help shape and deliver a new service that aims to improve outcomes for people involved in the justice system while contributing to safe and stronger communities across Scotland.

Working with people assessed by Justice Social Work as suitable for supervised bail, but who have instead been granted bail without supervision, you will provide practical, person-centred support to help them understand and comply with their bail conditions.

You will work collaboratively with Justice Social Work and a range of partner agencies to help individuals access the services and support they need to improve their wellbeing and deliver positive longer-term changes.

As part of an overall 18-month pilot, the successful candidate will join the service in October for an initial 15 months, with referrals expected to commence in November. While funding is currently in place for the pilot period, there is potential for the service to continue beyond this timeframe.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day service delivery, including case management, engaging compassionately with people supported, working in partnership and enabling connection with local support and communities.

• Assess risk and need, produce clear reports, maintain case records and effectively manage competing priorities.

• Develop tailored intervention and action plans to support positive outcomes across a range of person-centred needs including accommodation, education, employment, life skills, wellbeing, health, relationships and substance misuse.

Required Skills & Experience

• A valid driving license and access to a car are essential for this post

• Experience of supporting people who have a history of offending behaviour and/or substance misuse

• Proven ability to build and maintain effective multi-agency partnerships.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet competing demands.

• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, with the ability to travel as required.

Plus, a range of additional benefits, including death in service cover, cycle to work scheme, wellbeing support and everyday shopping discounts.
