Kitchen Assistant -

Thorntoun Estate Care Home needs a kind, caring and enthusiastic person to come and work with our residents. Your role will be making sure that our clients receive the best nutrition and hydration possible in a relaxed and supportive environment. No experience required as full training will be given., Kitchen Assistant - Main Responsibilities

• To assist at service time by serving the residents, as directed, to the company standard, including correct portion control and promote a friendly atmosphere.


• Prepare dining areas to create a safe and enjoyable environment for residents at mealtimes.


• To undertake all aspects in the cleaning of equipment - walls, floors, fixtures and fittings, to the companies' standard according to the cleaning rota as required and directed.


• To ensure work areas and equipment are left clean.


• To ensure a high standard of personal and general cleanliness and hygiene to comply with statutory and company regulations.


• To report immediately any incidents of fire, theft, loss, damage, unfit food or other irregularities and take such action as may be appropriate or possible.


• To receive any training as is necessary to maintain the standards in the establishment.


• Work safely within company policies, seeking advice and guidance when necessary.


• To comply with all the legal and hygiene requirements.

An interest in working with older people and people living with Dementia is preferred
