Full Job Description

The work pattern for this post will be Monday - Friday 8.45am - 2.45pm with a 30 minute unpaid break or hours agreed with the Head Teacher to meet the needs of the centre. West Dunbartonshire Council are delighted to offer the opportunity to highly motivated applicants who have a passion for working with children. This post is peripatetic, and successful applicant may be relocated to a different centre at any time, based on service needs. Applicants are required to be registered with, and maintain registration with, the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) as a Support Worker in Day Care of Children's Services within 3 months of appointment. More information can be found at: Requirements This post is considered as Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2020 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details of this scheme can be found . Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council. Responsibilities The employment for which you are applying is excepted from the provisions of section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Exceptions) Order 1975. Applicants are, therefore, not statutorily entitled to withhold information about convictions which for other purposes are "spent" under the provisions of the Act. In the event of employment any failure to disclose such convictions could result in dismissal or disciplinary action.
