Full Job Description
Lecturer in Academic Transitions
Grade 7 (£39,560.18 - £46,969.76)
Full-time, 35 hours per week
Abertay is a modern university with a global outlook, rooted in its local and national communities. We have made our mark with high quality, well-directed teaching and research, and a stimulating and enriching experience for our students.
The Abertay Learning Enhancement (AbLE) Academy is a small team that provides academic staff development across the University and offers a home for institutional academic innovation. It supports and guides programme teams to enhance curriculum design and teaching quality as we continually seek to improve the quality of the student experience. In addition, AbLE provides a foundation for our work with Colleges and our widening access ambitions, taking the lead on transitional and student success work.. We guide the university, through its students and staff, to develop and evolve and we hope you will want to bring an enthusiasm and creativity to this role with the AbLE Academy team.
Reporting to the Head of Teaching Quality and Learning Enhancement (AbLE Academy), you will help shape how Abertay supports students to make a successful transition into university and thrive. You will lead key aspects of our transitions work, including the evolution of the MySuccess microcredentials, Welcome Week, and supporting our work with local College providers. You will also contribute to teaching, staff development and curriculum enhancement work across the University.
The role requires a collaborative educator with a real commitment to widening access and student success. You will be an effective communicator and able to build relationships with, and influence, a variety of stakeholders. You will be able to work confidently with students, academics, professional services colleagues and external partners and be able to turn good ideas into practical activity.
If you believe you have the skills and experience for this exciting and challenging role, please submit your application.
Please note that we will only accept applications through our online recruitment system.
