Local Delivery Driver (Beds & Mattresses)

Grove Bedding is an established Scottish bed and mattress retailer, helping customers find the right beds, mattresses and bedroom furniture for their homes. As our business continues to grow, we’re looking for a reliable and hardworking Local Delivery Driver to join our friendly team at our Newbridge depot.

You’ll deliver beds, mattresses and bedroom furniture to customers across Edinburgh, the Lothians and the Borders, working alongside a dedicated driver’s mate. It’s an active, hands-on role that combines driving, teamwork, furniture handling and customer service.

Unlike long-distance driving roles, you’ll be home every evening, with no overnight stays or weekend working.

Key Responsibilities

• Local deliveries: Drive safely and follow planned routes to deliver orders to customers’ homes.
• Loading and unloading: Work with your driver’s mate to handle heavy and bulky items safely and protect customers’ property.
• Bed assembly: Assemble beds, divans and headboards in customers’ homes where required.
• Customer service: Provide a friendly, professional service and treat customers and their homes with care and respect.
• Vehicle checks: Complete daily safety checks and keep the delivery vehicle clean and tidy.
• Preparation: Help organise orders and prepare the vehicle and equipment for the following day.

What We’re Looking For

• A full UK driving licence held for at least three years.
• Aged 25 or over to meet our commercial vehicle insurance requirements.
• Physically fit and comfortable with regular heavy lifting and carrying bulky furniture, including up and down stairs.
• Reliable, punctual and well organised, with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Friendly and professional, with good communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
• Able to commute reliably to our Newbridge depot.
• Previous delivery driving or furniture assembly experience would be beneficial, but a positive attitude, reliability and a willingness to learn are equally important.

What We Offer

• £26,000–£28,000 annual salary.
• Monday to Friday working hours: 8:30am–5:30pm, with no weekend work.
